AML, CTF and Identity Check Standards
LikesBet applies Know Your Customer procedures and Anti Money Laundering controls to meet Dutch regulatory requirements for remote gambling. These checks support ID verification, account protection and user safety by confirming the account holder and reducing the risk of suspicious activity.
Purpose of Identity Check and AML Controls
LikesBet uses KYC and AML procedures to verify identity, reduce fraud risk and combat financial crime, including money laundering and terrorist financing. These controls also support responsible gaming and lawful account use in the Netherlands.
- Fair play through verified account access and lawful participation;
- User safety through checks that reduce fraud and misuse;
- Transparency in verification, review and account control processes;
- Compliance with Dutch regulatory requirements, including applicable gambling and AML law.
ID Verification and Document Submission
Each new account holder must complete an identity check before full use of gambling services is permitted under applicable Dutch rules and internal risk controls. Document submission may be requested during registration, withdrawal review or later account checks.
- Government photo identification that confirms name, date of birth and identity;
- Proof of residential address that confirms the current address of the account holder;
- Payment method ownership confirmation for deposits, withdrawals or linked payment instruments.
Transaction Monitoring and AML Security Measures
LikesBet applies security measures designed to detect and reduce the risk of money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud and other illegal activity. Controls may be adjusted based on account risk, payment behaviour and legal reporting obligations.
- Transaction monitoring across deposits, withdrawals, gameplay patterns and account activity;
- Automated detection rules for patterns linked to fraud, laundering or account misuse;
- Enhanced due diligence after high risk events, unusual behaviour or incomplete verification;
- Reviews of large, rapid or unusual transfers, including checks on payment origin and account purpose;
- Risk scoring based on available account data, payment data and relevant personal data;
- Sanctions and politically exposed person screening where required by law or risk assessment;
- Reports to competent authorities when suspicious activity meets applicable legal thresholds.
Account Restrictions That Support AML Compliance
Platform restrictions help protect account integrity, user safety and compliance with Dutch regulatory requirements. The following actions are not permitted and may trigger review.
- Creation or control of more than one personal account by the same person;
- Use of forged, altered, stolen or inaccurate documents;
- Attempts to use the platform to disguise the source or destination of funds;
- Attempts to bypass security measures, detection tools or system controls;
- Sharing, selling or transferring account access to another person;
- Use of payment instruments owned by another person or entity;
- Misrepresentation of identity, age, residence or payment ownership.
Enforcement After KYC or AML Breaches
A breach of KYC, AML or CTF duties may lead to enforcement under the terms, internal policies and Dutch regulatory requirements. Measures may include temporary or permanent account suspension, freezing or confiscation of funds linked to suspicious activity, cancellation of bets or winnings, reporting to competent authorities where applicable.
Duties of the Account Holder
Users must provide accurate registration data, current contact details and valid personal data during verification. Verification requests must be completed within the stated timeframe, including any request for additional documents or clarification. Each account holder must use only payment methods held in that person’s own name. Suspicious activity, unauthorised access or suspected misuse should be reported promptly through the available support channels.
Fair Play, Transparency and User Safety Principles
Fair play, transparency and responsible gaming standards help protect users and maintain a controlled environment for lawful gambling. These principles apply alongside KYC, AML and account protection controls.
- Compliance with KYC, AML and CTF standards under applicable Dutch and EU frameworks;
- Confidentiality and protection of personal data handled during verification and reviews;
- Ongoing transaction monitoring for suspicious activity and unusual account behaviour;
- Prevention of manipulation, account misuse and unfair behaviour;
- User support on safety, verification and responsible gaming matters;
- Shared responsibility between the operator and each account holder;
- Equal conditions for all users under the same rules and review standards.
